The Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR is the fastest Grand Prix 5000 tubeless tire for the pursuit of speed, be it in a criterium, time trial or triathlon.
Like all Grand Prix tires, it starts with Conti's unique tread compound, produced only in Germany. The legendary Black Chili compound answers the eternal question of the best balance of grip and rolling resistance. The latest polymers, as well as specially developed carbon black particles and filler materials guarantee unique performance.
A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and effective against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker without effecting rolling resistance. Vectran is spun from liquid crystal-polymer, creating a thermoplastic, multiple-thread, partially-crystalline yarn that is more cut-resistant than aramide and with tensile strength five times higher than that of steel.
The micro profile structure of Conti Lazer Grip expands over the tire's shoulder and provides outstanding cornering. And embedded in the tire construction is new Active Comfort Technology that absorbs vibrations and smooths your ride.
This unrestrained speedster of the bunch comes with several siblings for any kind of riding you do. Check out the S TR for a more well-rounded racer or the AS TR for all-season grip and durability. And if you don't need tubeless/hookless in the first place, consider the original gold standard GP5K.

I initially purchased these tires to obtain maximum speed in an upcoming bicycling event. They delivered and seemed very fast, but this is subjective. I'm not able to quantify whether they're faster than other tires. That is, I don't have any way of measuring their speed against that of other tires.
I can quantify that they are incredibly easy to mount. I was able to mount them by just pushing them over the rim with my hands. I didn't need tires irons. The best part is that although I am running them tubeless, they inflated with great ease. I didn't need an air compressor or similar device to get them to seat. Instead, I just attached the pump to the valve stem and began pumping. They inflated very easily, just the same as tires with tubes. I didn't have to take any special steps to get them to seat.
I have not had any flats with them, but this could be to luck and/or the sealant doing its job.
Their only negative is that they seem to wear-out a little faster than some other tires and they are a little expensive. That's why I gave them only four stars for value.
This is an awesome road tire - almost unbeatably low rolling resistance, and pretty decent puncture resistance with a good sealer (Orange or Silca). Just don't buy them at full boat price, as over $100 for a bike tire is pretty insane. Wait for a sale for under $90, and preferably under $80.
Yes, the tread is thinner than an S-TR, but if you have them mounted on wide, aero wheels, you will be wearing a flat spot onto the tread long before those are worn out, or just losing grip from the rubber degrading from time in the sun. There really isn't a downside to the TT TR, unless you like to run your tires until they show threads.
it feels like a fast and very grippy tire, however it's not very sturdy. I got a flat on my second ride, less than 150 miles overall (it was the sidewall that got a hole, i assume from some kind of pinching). Definitely great for race day, not so much for everyday training.
The Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR Road Tire is great match for my Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels. The balance of grip, rolling resistance and weight is unmatched for the tire's weight.
Bought it at a reasonable price vs. MSRP.
True to historic performance, Ive used Continental tires for training / racing throughout my career. Ive used others, but keep coming to back to Continental for its durability, speed, and overall quality.
The Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TR Road Tire is fit for race day. Supple, low rolling resistance and holds the line when you dive into the corners. They installed on my Zipp 404's with relative ease. The sea was good.
I do not use it for training everyday rides. Even though I have not had a flat with it after 450 miles of "big boy" riding.
Have fun with these shoes. They have performed to my expectations.
