I have been wearing Sidi shoes since the 90's (I still have a pair from 2003) I wear a 38.5 or 39 and have a fairly narrow foot'these are perfect! I also like that a there are replacement parts and they are women specific shoes. This particular shoe is a little more relaxed than my race specific Sidi's and I wear them for long training rides and on my fixed gear Duende Pegoretti made and painted by the master himself, Dario Pegoretti. I'm a Sidi customer thru and thru.
I bought these for my wife since she started indoor cycling and occasionally road cycling. She is barely starting cycling and the fit is great, with the necessary adjustability. They feel very snug without excessive pressure. Breathable enough for indoor and outdoor. Carbon platform transfers power efficiently. Weight is low. Easy to clean. There are some more expensive options, but if you don't want to spend a lot of money but still want good performance and comfort shoes, these are a great pair of shoes to consider. I don't think of any downside.
I've worn a pair of Sidi road shoes for probably about 20 years, but realized that I needed a new pair of road shoes that were a bit bigger and stiffer than my old Sidis. These had great reviews and looked to be a bit wider and WAY lighter than my heavy old Sidis. They were available at a great price, so I decided to take a chance. My first ride, the shoes were a little tight on my heels and caused a bit of pain on the front of my ankle. But after just a few rides, they have adapted to my feet and I'm super happy with them! The partial-carbon soles are amazingly stiff yet comfortable. I can definitely feel the increase in power to my pedals with these shoes. It's almost like having a new, lighter bike, I'm so much quicker going up hills and on the flats. A great deal and a super shoe!
