wanted a tire that would make less noise and still get me a good workout.
this is it, I will be buying another when the time comes
Happy with this so far. Previously used regular tire and my tubes would flat after short time. This is much cooler temp. Also quieter than normal tire.
I rode about 500 km on the tire, I dont see any wear, tear, and it is very quiet.
Easy to mount and provides excellent traction on my trainer. Much better than the Kurt Kinetic tire I was using.
Have now uses for 900km and still barely weathered the rubber. This is so affordable and functional. Perfect for the PNW winter indoor trainer.
After destroying a fairly new tire doing an FTP test (on a Tacx trainer), I decided Id better get one of these. It was a b%& to mount on my spare Shimano rim, even with levers. Make sure you keep it well over 100 psi, or youll overheat a tube and pop it. Its fine once on, but a hassle to mount. Wish Id just bought a wahoo.....
This is my first winter using a trainer. The Vittoria training tire is as advertised. Quiet and durable. Im guessing it will last a few winters of 750 miles or so.
Ive used both the Vitoria and the Continental home trainer tires. I think the Vitoria is acceptable, but the Continental version is a better home trainer tire. The Continental home trainer is more expensive, but its worth it because its muck quieter.
I haven't been using this tire for long, but I tried running my regular street.road tire on my indoor trainer before installing this one to see the difference. It's quieter, smoother, and for all the reasons the product description describes, I have confidence that this is the right equipment for use on my trainer and it'll last much longer than using my outdoor tires. Well worth the cost. (Though like others say, it may be easier to have a back-up wheel to keep it on)
Withstands high heat for 9 months or more. Most other Trainer tires, warp after 2 or 3 monthjs or throw tread.
I've had the Continental home trainer tire and this one, and I can't tell a significant difference in them. This one does seem to be a little softerhotter after a long ride (I always have a fan blowing on the flywheel and wheel) than the other brand's option, but a few thousand miles in, I don't see any deterioration in the tread. Very easy to install on my rear rim.
If you're still on the fence about whether to use old road tires or a trainer-specific tire, I promise you'll be glad that you made the jump to this economical option.
I have been using the same well known road tire on my bikes for years so when the tire blew on the bike on my compu-trainer blew out, I just installed one of those. It blew out in a matter of weeks. I installed a Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer tire and we are good to go!
Easy to install on the trainer bike. It was louder that i was expecting at first but it took a few minutes and it got more quiet. Now I barely hear it while I'm riding. We'll see how it holds up as it appears to be just a bit thinner in the mid-line than a regular outdoor tire, but it's hard to really tell. I'd recommend it.
The tire works great - quiet and long lasting. No signs of wear after 500+ miles. Was easy to mount too.
Tire lasts forever on trainer and no little rubber bits from using road tires
I've been using this tire on the Compu Trainer for a few weeks now. No complaints - it works perfectly.
I've used these tires for years and feel they are a necessity for use with indoor trainers. These tires hold up well and don't degrade as fast as other tires do when exposed to trainer heat. Another advantage is that they are quieter than other types of tires. They do have a tendency to shed little black pieces of rubber as they wear. So, make sure you have something underneath your tiretrainer and behind you so it doesn't get all over the place. Seems to work well if your back tire can be close to a wall or something. Tip Since you can't ride this tire outdoors, just put this tire on a spare wheel then when you ride outside just switch to your regular wheel/tire. Saves a lot of hassle if you switch between riding indoors and out quite often.
I received the Vittoria Zaffiro tire and mounted on and Easton Wheel after I upgraded my road bike to Mavic wheels. This is the perfect set up for indoor trainer. Runs smoother and quieter that a normal road tire. Highly recommend this for indoor trainer.
I ride my wind trainer (I know old school, but it still works and the sound precludes interuptions) at least three times a week. The tire has held up well and looks like it belongs on the back end of my training bike. Installation was easy, arthritis in my wrists makes Continental tires a pain to get on and off the rim. The bead was more relaxed on this tire, two thumbs up for Vittoria. I would suggest deflating after you ride. My previous Conti tire developed wear from being left inflated and resting on the roller. After the loss of the second tube a check of the casing showed wear marks in a few places that were rubbing the inner tube causing flats.
Nice durable tire to throw on the trainer. I didnt notice a significant decrease in noise between this one and my stock road tire I was using previously, but it hasnt shown any visible wear yet as opposed to a stock road tire. Good buy if you spend any repeated trainer use indoor.
