I use this brand in all my wheels, road and MTB (two sizes available), and have been using it for decades. Other cloth tapes fail over the holes on double wall wheels where this protects the tube forever. The adhesive is fantastic. The cloth is thick. There is even a little extra length if you want to trim it to give equal thickness on both side of your air valve. I've tried others and this is the best.
Velox has never let me down. Lasts and lasts and never have had a flat from the spoke nipple. I use it for road bike rims in the 10 and 17 mm width.
The best rim strip there is. I wouldn't use anything else!
when called specialist to ask what would be the best rim strip. he told me he uses these. much cheaper than other
ones and works just as well. it does.
I prefer cloth rim tape over plastic, less chance of cutting the inner tube if it gets folded underneath.
THIS PRODUCT IS GRATE AT A GOOD PRICE,
I use velox rim tape on vintage restoratwion projects. It's a little more expensive than rubber strip but I know it will last.
Tried this product on vintage road bikes and I really like the way it goes on.
Thought I was going to take inexpensive road and purchase a rubber rim tape. That was a waste of money! Not only did the rubber thing break after a couple of rides but I had to replace couple of inner tubes! Not too expensive, not too heavy, they go on easily, they stay in place, and they do what they are designed to do very well!
Wouldn't use anything else. Easy to use, durable, and stays in place. The only rim strip that stands up to South Florida summer after summer.
I like the durability of this tape. Sometimes it needs a little warming up to help the glue stick. It is also the easiest to use when the whole for the valve is cut in the center.
I always install Velox on my own wheels because the cotton canvas is strong, not abrasive, and the slightly tacky coating makes it easy to install. I have used the rubber band style, but they stretch, break easily, and after a few years, the rubber gets rotten. I have also used the thick nylon rim tape, but it feels abrasive, and is slippery (like a nylon rope) and therefore more difficult to install. I trust Velox because is does a simple job well.
I used this rim tape on a new wheel that I purchased. The tape was very easy to use, has turned out to be durable, and was a great value for the cost.
Installation on my new Bontrager Race Lite wheels was a snap. Plenty of length.
