Been using Shimano chains for the past 20 years. 9spd, 10spd, 11spd. They work fine. Don't last forever, but they work fine. Now it's nice, Shimano includes quick-links with their chains.
Always have used Shimano chains and always have great results. Smooth shifting and quiet with easy installation.
You can't beat this product for price and quality! The Shimano CN-HG701 11 speed Ultegra is easy to install, priced right and lasts for many, many miles!
Solid chain. Easy to install
I'm a big boy (245 lbs) and usually ate at least one chain per season if not two with Ultegra 10 spd chains. After upgrading to 11 spd Ultegra and chains I now get about a year and a half to two years from the newer Shimano 11 spd chains. Articles suggest using these chains for 10 spd drivetrains as well because of their superior construction, materials, and longevity.
Shifts just as good as my Dura Ace chain, but a half the price. It's a win win.
Had no issues with this chain, lasted longer than the dura ace model.
It's a genuine Shimano chain. No worries about short chain life or breakage like when purchasing from unrepeatable sellers.
I use this chain on one of my two 11-speed bikes
It is the only option on Ultegra and Durace according to Shimano. They last 1500-2000 miles and at $40-$50, they are not cheap. Great chain but I wish there were more options.
Just what I ordered. Very fast shipping ????
A bike shop installed KMC chain on one of my bikes when it was in for some maintenance. Now that I have side by side comparison (w/this Ultegra chain), KMC chain is always much louder and it feels like it's dirty or something - like there's some extra friction. Mind you that I always clean & lube the chain after every ride (it's very dusty in San Diego).
I'll be replacing the KMC chain on my second bike for this Ultegra chain!
Makes perfect with Shimano 105 components
Smooth shifting, long lasting chain at a good price. I prefer not to mix brands on my drive train - Shimano cassette, crank and chain on my Di2 road bike. Likewise, I use only Sram chain, crank and cassette on my mountain bike. Compatibility insures everything works as it was engineered
Can't comment much about chain per se. Can only comment based upon experience with present gear setup. Have 34-50 compact gear rings with 11-32 cassette. Seems chain is not very tolerant with this setup. Had to replace chain despite Park Tool measuring tool did not even indicate 0.5mm of stretch, or wear. Not chain's fault.
Performs precisely on my road and gravel bikes. Keep your drive train clean and you'll get plenty of miles out of this chain. And I've never broken a link even in hard gunky climbs.
This chain is my go to. I'm getting about 2000-2500 miles out of them changing when the wear tool suggests they are worn. Easy to install.
Wish that this had come with a quick link like the SRAM does, but this does the job!
Good 11sp chain to match my ultegra drivetrain. Exactly as advertised. Enough links for my 5236 midcompact with an 11-30 at the rear.
These are good chains at competitive prices. Life span depends On the rider , bike and hills.
If you have both 10 and 11 speed bikes then these chains work for both.
