use on a road bike. Plenty long to fit big gears. Easy to install, just be sure chain writing is facing out as it is directional which improves shifting. I install a removable master link for easy cleaning. It would be nice if Shimano included one but the pin also works fine. Google the chain for specific installation instructions. In case the chain breaks, a spare master link will get you home.
Usually get 2,000 to 3,000 miles of really good performance
It seems like there is no longer a Shimano CN-7901 10-Speed Chain available for purchase. When I received this chain the box states its for Dura-Ace, Ultegra and 105 10-Speed drive trains. Its a bit confusing but the price on the so called Ultegra chain is affordable. I guess I can now just replace my chain more often. My bigger concern is that Shimano apparently is abandoning continued 10-Speed component support.
I purchased a used Soma Smoothie that was decked out with Ultegra components. After a few months into the rainy season, my drivetrain and shifting became dodgy, which turned to be due to a stuck link. Unfortunately, I couldn't un-stick the link, so I purchased this chain, which was identical to what I had. That made for a quickeasy replacement. Things are smooth, once again. )
Love the shimano chain great value for the price
This has a single pin closure and if the length is wrong you have to punch out links but there is no link to re-attach.
Shimano products have always worked out well for me
I use the chain on my road bikes & I average 300 miles per, the chains are very durable. Wish it was lighter.
Noticably smoother shifts...lighter weight...easy cut and fit...Shimano quality!
Remove chain completely,no degreasers throughly clean every 2-3 rides (100-150 mi.) check and wipe down every ride with very light coat lube for cleaning purposes fully lube 1 drop per link when chain talks to me.
Backup chain.
Chain performs above expectations. Entire drivetrain is smoother shift and is unbelievably quiet.
Solid durable chain that does exactly what it's supposed to. Great durability on the road and the trainer both.
Quiet and easy to install.
good product - performs as expected
Good chain made to last, just keep it clean and it will.
Lasts much longer than the Dura-Ace chain, for only a very small increase in weight.
I use this chain with my 2 bikes with RotorQ Rings rings as well as one with Di2. Of all the chains I used this one shift the best and last the longest.
Good replacement for the original chain, shifts easy and quite. Easy installation after matching up the number of links. Just oil and it's good to go.
nothing to dislike.
