If you're tired of looking for the weakest link (I always wanted to use that phrase in a sentence . . .) then perhaps its time to replace/upgrade your chain! I have two bicycles with Shimano 10 speed components (105 and Ultegra ) and opted to replace the chain and cassette, swapping the 105 components for Ultegra. This was a no-brainer . . . great components at a phenomenal price! You really can't go wrong with the Shimano Ultra CN6701 chain - replace your chain today!
Took the old worn one off and put this one on. Quick lube and it's working great. Nice and quiet with easy gear shifting. Nothing beats a quiet bike
This is what I use with my Dura Ace set up. On my 2007 Trek 5.5 Madone, I have replaced original cassette with a Shimano Ultegra CS-6700 10-speed and used this Shimano Ultegra CN-6701 chain. Learning how to install was done using youtube videos and luckily I got it on the first try. You will need a chain tool to size and install a new pin. For the price, I go with Ultegra over Dura Ace any day.
I get between 1200 and 2000 miles out of these. I'm a big guy and tend to spin at lower cadence and I climb a lot. Given my riding style I tend to stretch chains out faster than an average rider.
Easy to install. Good price. Reliable and solid product.
I put a new one of these on bike annually. Do this instead of replacing the whole drivetrain. I have never had issues.
I decided to try Shimano chain on my Shimano 105 group bike after using other brands for many years. Shifting is flawless and crisp. It was a great decision. I fully recommend this chain.
Well made, lasts longer than other brands, use on tandems and single bikes
Another great Shimano product. Easy to install and really improved my ride.
I like using A pin in stead of quick release
Exact replacement, excellent performance
This chain was easy to install and works well with my new cassette.
Installs easily and works great, shifts are smooth. I change my chain when the chain tool says to, and I don't really notice a difference except that everything keeps working.
Nice quality 10 speed chain. Works well on Shimano drive
standard chain, good value, use tool for pin
These chains never fail to exceed its expectations. Tried all the others but always came back to these.
need chain tool to shorten and put pin. Keep lettering on chain outside (to the right) per picture supplied with chain. easy to install
I learned the hard way that 10 speed chains need more frequent cleaning than ancient 5 & 6 speed chains AND that you MUST read the manual. You must not break the chain and reuse the pin as we did years ago. That said - what a relief to return to quiet reliable shifting. From the amount of stretch over the past 900 miles on the identical chain I'm going to guess that I'll get about 2500 miles before replacing it with the chain I just bought.
I purchased this for the price was right and sticking with Shimano ultegra items with ultegra gears only makes sense for they fit well together.
No noticeable difference or problems
7,000 miles a year,replace at 0.75 wear indicator
