Upon opening the shipping box, the seat was in a bag, un-attached to, but with the cardboard display backing. Someone had already cut the zip ties holding the two together. A return? Perhaps. After mounting it to the seat post (it replaced a trusty old Specialized split seat), it looked like the nose was slightly bent to the side. During the first ride the seat kept snagging the left leg of my riding shorts. ( The seat post was in the same place it had been for years with the Specialized seat - I marked it long ago. ) I felt the under side of the seat and it feels unfinished - there is a sharp edge there. Possibly from the molding process? I loosened and turned the seat post a touch and it seems to have helped, but it still looks like the molding process bent the seat frame. Maybe that's why it was returned? I need a deeper grooved seat, and this one has the right features and price point for a quality seat, only the quality is not quite there to back it up! YMMV.
Just got a smart bike trainer and my wife and I both use it. Fortunately it's easy to swap saddles and I needed a saddle for my wife. This is the same saddle my wife has on her regular bike so I bought another for the smart trainer. She likes this saddle and believe me she is fussy about saddles!
As we all know seats can be very subjective. My previous seat was actually quite good but I really like the looks of this SMP and hoped it might ride as well. I ride 100 miles a week. If I were buying today I'd probably get the medium but I'm happy with it.
I recently had a prostate procedure and needed a saddle for my trainer that provided a little relief. This saddle fit the bill perfectly - no pressure in the love channel!
It is the right size for me. The fit and finish are awesome. The design just right.
