I own 2 of these and wear them for sun protection on my bald head. They work great for this purpose. The fit is snug which is good under the helmet. I bought these to replace my old ones which I wore out over 5 + years.
Actually does help to keep the head cool and sweat out of the eyes in the summer heat. I'll probably buy a few more.
Fits well under helmet, barely know it�s there. Wicks sweat well for hot hard dripping 2-3 hours and keeps bald heads from burning. Doesn�t make me feel too hot on hot days.
Great PI Quality! Good fit and keeps me cool and protected from the sun. Keeps the inside of my helmet clean too! Recommend for hot weather.
I�m bald and this does a great job blocking the sun from giving me helmet patterns on my scalp. In addition, it soaks up sweat pretty good too.
Bought on sale-fortunately. Poor moisture wicking properties. Sweat concentrates in grip band. Grip band is tight on forehead. No need for it since helmet will hold cap in place. Product is not worth the money even on sale.
With my bald pate,this skull cap is the ticket. No longer needing sun block to keep from getting paisley sun burn on my head. Plus wicking sweat away from my head at rest stops while being super heated from a ride. Also they extend the life of my helmet pads by not soaking them with sweat. I wash them as often as I do my bicycling kits & gloves. I have a 21 1/2" medium head & they are a perfect fit. One size does truly fit most people.
I really like this skull cap because it keeps the sweat out of my eyes and sunglasses dry when riding on hot days. It fits nice and snug on my head and still allows my helmet to fit normally. Highly recommend!

I shave my dome completely bald now that I am in my late 50s, and it used to be that my hair would catch some of the sweat coming off the top of my head and prevent it from streaming down my face and into my eyes. No more: once my body temperature rises to a certain temperature on a ride, a point comes when I don't just start to "glow" - the sweat just pours off me, like a dam bursting. Well this cap is a brilliant solution. The wicking material stops the dome sweat, and the elasticized temple band sops up the sweat on it's way down to my eyes very efficiently. I don't need to spread sunscreen over my dome anymore, because the skull cap is SPF50! Last summer I had to stop and dab a rag every five miles because of the sweat pouring down, but this cap just lets me ride on a summer day. I need to get a couple more, actually.
Great fit in my opinion as it covers the hair but does not stick out beneath the edge of the helmet in the front. There is a little red tag on the top which makes it really easy to remove by just lifting on the tag.
I have several different skull caps that I regularly use since I ride practically every day. I like skull caps because thy reduce the stench on my helmet pads and straps. This particular one has a tighter weave but breathes very well even on warm days. I have not had an opportunity to wear it yet on really hot summer SoCal days. I have some very light skull caps and a thick winter like one with protection for the ears. This skull cap seems to fit in between from a temperature perspective. I plan to acquire a couple more now that I have tried it and like the fit and quality.
The Pearl Izumi Skull Cap works and fits well. It effectively prevents sweat from running down my head into my eyes. It also protects my skull from sunburns. Material and Quality is good. I'd buy it again.
I wear it for comfort under a helmet & for sweat. I would like to see an elastic or draw string to tighten.
This offers just enough protection under a helmet to keep the cool air off your head. Considering most of your heat escape thru the head wearing this make a big difference. It's thin enough not to create any bulk under the helmet.
I use this under my bicycle & motorcycle helmets. It's great under my bicycle helmet to keep sweat out of my eyes when I stop for a break. It also beats having to use sun screen on my bald pate. Oval sun burn spots is not funny at all.
Really like these caps, I've bought several. They fit nicely and are very comfortable. I like the protection from the sun on the top of my head and unlike my hats these don't drip sweat down across my face since there is no bill.
It's a bit snug (and I have a shaved head), so beware of size constraints.
I have to stretch it a bit before putting it on.
Since I shave my head, I wanted something that functions when it's sunny and cool, but not so cold that I need to put on one of my other, thicker skull caps. It works well from low 60's to 80F heat. I've yet to get too hot with it on.
I ride in Florida and wear this skull cap under my helmet to protect my bald head from the sun and to keep sweat out of my eyes. When the cap is wetted it provides great evaporative cooling. The fabric is light and the cap fits great. I have used several other brands of skull caps, but this is the best.
This is great for warm weather riding, much cooler than wearing a bandana under your helmet and just as effective at keeping the perspiration out of your eyes. Haven't used it long enough or washed it enough times to see how it holds up. If they could bring the price down, I would buy several more.
