Very bad esthetically the black is painted up the sidewall in several spots and looks extremely unprofessional. I don't own a wallmart bike and if I did this would suit it. Totally unacceptable, should of never passed qc.
Looking for a tire to do the TAT across Arkansas. I've found it. Just yhe right mix of toughness and roll. The silkshield does not make the tire too stiff. May need 3 hands to mount it, but very much worth the effort. Will buy again.
I purchased a set of these in June of 99 for my Lynskey gravel build They roll great and grip well in all but the roughest conditions They were a little fragile so when I started to get frequent leaks ( I'm running tubeless ) on the rear I replaced it with a slightly heavier silk shield version So far I am happy I did Holds air better and no leaks so far

My WTB tires that came with my Cannondale were horrible. They lost air and I had to repair holes in my tubeless tires twice! The Rambler is rugged and holds air sturdy up and down San Gabriel Mountain trails. I ride up 10% grade paved roads for few miles before the dirt and no issues with the knobby tires. A big part of my Topstone bike is that I feel solid on any surface
Both of these tires are seated properly but do not run smoothly. They are just flawed. Other than visually this doesn't seem to negatively affect the ride. I like the weight, tread and the tire in general except this.
Rode these for about 900 miles, mostly on road, and got a pretty good bulge after a pretty light gravel session. I ran them tubeless for that time and loved them up until that point. For gravel tires I expected them to last a little longer as the centerline of the tire has some significant wear.
This is my go to tire for my gravel. It is a great overall tire for multi-surface riding.
Very nicely constructed tire. Light weight , wears well, and rolls very quickly on smooth roads. The knobs and 45mm are very confidence inspiring on the rough stuff. I'm on my 2nd pair I like them so much
I've ridden the Ramblers for several years on hard and loose packed gravel. They have great traction, hold to the surface well, but if they do lose grip they recover quickly. I have periodically tried other great tires, but always go back to the Ramblers.
I got these in the silk shield 45mm for my Diverge. They're awesome tires for a mixed surface ride. Definitely plenty of rolling resistance, so don't expect to set any PR's on your road segments. Plenty of grip on gravel and light single track to have a little fun.
I've now ridden these on two different bike packing trips including the Oregon Outback. They were super easy to seat tubeless and were flawless. Highly recommend.
I really like these tires off-road. They connect well. I run them tubeless. Unfortunately I have had several flats requiring a boot and tube. I am very disappointed they are not more durable. The seem to puncture easily.
I've been running Ramblers for a couple of seasons now. They have proved to be very tough with great traction.
Seem to role fast on gravel or pavement.
On my DT Swiss wheels, they are easy to get on/off and easy to seat.
Great compromise tire for hard pack, gravel, pavement, single track. Experimented with tire by replacing my 29 x 2.25" with these (about 1.8"). Obviously they're lacking in deep sand. Good tires!
I replaced a set of Donnelley 36 mm with these in a 38.The volume difference is noticeable. Today I rode a mixed-surface road to get an idea of how these tires performed. With 50 inflation, they did well on hard-packed dirt, loose gravel, and gravel with random golf-ball size rocks. The real test was the sections of the road that had been repaired with large-walnut size-rock. This was several inches deep, so the surface was very insecure. Although the tires weren't made for this kind of riding they gave reasonably good controlk and got me through. So far, I'm pleased with these tires, they feel safe and secure on rough road surfaces.
Good tire, rolls remarkably fast on pavement, decent traction on dirt but definitely more of a gravel tire than a cross tire with solid side knobs. Bought a 38, and on a 33mm internal it stretched out to 40 over the course of a couple rides in a week. That extra size meant it didn't clear my chain stays any longer, so I didn't get a thorough review.
So far these great tires. They are fast on gravel and on any hard surface. Love my tubeless tires.
Threw a set of these on an old CX bike for a couple of gravel events last summer. Kept the air pressure on e low end and enjoyed a reasonably plush and stable ride. Easy to mount and held air nicely. Raced an early season (dry) CX race with this set up. Performed nicely there too.
For an ultralight 40 mm tire this tire performs well. Particularly with regard to braking. If one were to require more cornering acumen, the Ravager is the one from this manufacturer. Also, the silk shield is the only way to keep cooked cauliflower from punching holes through that light casing.
