none
I not only like how these cleats are non slip when walking around on woodtile flooring etc, I also like how they give me less float in the pedals. I've used the same 4 degree gray cleats for years, and have noticed a difference in float with and without the grips in the cleat.
Replacement cleats, fit like origional, work great
It was time to replace my previous pair of the same Look Keo Grip Cleats. I like the fact that these have rubber grips on the cleats, helping to ensure good footing whether you're clipped out at a stop or walking. Also, clipping in and out of my Keo Classic pedals with these cleats is relatively painless as well. I decided this time around, to help further extend the life of these cleats by getting myself a pair of Look Keo Cleat Covers.
Pros light-weight, helps with slippingsliding issues, clipping in and out not a problem
Cons pricey unless on sale, rubber grip wear may be an issue
I love the look cleats but I am always going through the plastic. I am hoping these will last longer because of the extra rubber.
Some comment how short of a life span they get out of pedals. I get about 3000 miles out of these. The bottom bumper helps lengthen the life and it does not effect the riding characteristic using the Keo pedals.
I've been riding Look pedals for years, and the Keo since they were first introduced. This is my first set of grip replacement cleats, and I have to say I'm very pleased with them so far. I've not experienced any entryexit issues from the pedal. For me, they perform on par with the standared replacement cleat.
I've given the cleat 3 stars as I feel the price is a bit high and it remains to be seen how the cleat wears without the white inserts at the toe and heel. Also, I've never been very attentive to using cleat covers so I'm sure the rubber pads will get a good workout, too.
I'm pretty sold on the Look platform both in terms of power transfer and design and got a pair of the Keo grip cleats gray with a new pair of pedals. The rubber bits do the stuff they are supposed to easier walking off the bike, less slippage between cleat and shoe, BUT the problem is they also make entry much less distinct and I find myself fumbling with the pedal more just to find the right side. There is no distinct, reassuring 'snak' as with the standard cleat 'cause the rubber just absorbs it. Occasionally the rubber will squeak against the pedal body.
I find they are best reserved for winter use. In the rain I find the rubber grips actually useful on the street, the rubber also extends the life of the cleat and with an earband around my head I don't notice if they squeak a little. I have a pair mounted on a pair of Hydro GTX shoes and that keeps me pretty happy all winter long. But as soon as it stops raining here I'm right back to regular shoes and cleats. I do wish they were less expensive.
