Tires are fast and I never feel like I am dragging like I did with my Vittoria Rubino Pro G. Third-party tire rolling resistance tests confirm this (web search). I have been over some unclean streets littered with rocks, glass, trash, and potholes here in the inner city and haven't had any issues so far. Tires are comfortable and absorb shock well. I feel like I can go extra miles on these as they are more efficient. Cruising along the flats at 23mph is no issue. Give 'em a shot if they are in the category of tire you are searching for. I also have my second set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires on my car so I am very pleased with Continental's products at this point.
Durable, reliable , fast rolling.
Never had a flat since I changed to these tires. I went with a 23 in the front and 25 in the rear. Rides real smooth and hugs the road. I bought another pair because they were on sale. Excellent tire.
Love these tires. I get a full riding season out of every set with very few flats.
I have tried many different tires in the last 40 years of riding and the Continental Grand Prix 4000 as been the longest lasting tire with the best resistance to cuts and punctures of any tire I have used.
I've been using them for years and they are my favorite. Great ride and handling, rarely ever flat. The few times I've tried another brand, I notice the difference in handling right away and can't wait for them to wear out so I can get back to the Conti 4000S
Not only had no flats in 12k mikes, (almost 20,000 km) they last for 3 to 4k miles. I am wearing the 3rd set and not planning to change brands.
Good grip but miss the colors.
I ride with a bike club in Florida in bike lanes on heavily used roads. After seeing how my tires hold up against heat and road trash, many in the club have switched to Conti GP4000S and think highly of them. A little heavy, but durability and ride performance more than makes up for it.
Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II 700c Road Tire
You simply cannot go wrong with these tires. Most have a favorite tire for a variety of reasons. My experience with the Conti GB 4000 S II have been great. Ride, train or race them. Run them with a tube or tubeless. Not a gravel tire but I can ride a couple miles here and there on a dirt road. I like to mount a new set of tires before a Grand Fondo and by the next one I have 2K 3K miles and ready for a new pair. If you need a change to get excited about riding, clean your bike, pop on a set of these tires and you have a new bike.
I use the tire on my road bike.
Long life
Puncture resistant
Love the wear sensors
Great traction in dry or wet
Easy to mount
Great price on sale.
Great durable fast tires
Just did Los Olas Aquabike in Ft Lauderdale this past weekend and prior to the race put on a set of brand new Conti's. Even though the sky's opened up and rained like crazy I was still confident enough of those new tires push hard enough to get 6th overall. Long time Conti 4000 user.
What a wonderful tire, absolut silence and what a grip in either wet or dry.
Have already done 1000mls and they look barely used
Have used the continental GP 4000 S II for a while. Best tire I have ever used.
I bought these tires for $XX each, on sale from the usual $XX, They were a little stiff out of the box and hard to get on the wheel, but once on the rim they're absolutely fantastic. I've only put a few hundred miles on them so I can't really speak to durability yet, but so far they don't look like they're wearing any faster than a stock all-weather tire. Most importantly, they're noticeably faster and more comfortable than the stock tires that came on my bike. For anyone looking for replacement year-round training and racing tires, these are a great option.
The best tire I've ever used in terms of longevity and durability.
Nothing to complain about with these tires!
These road tires last long, resist punctures, roll true as well as any and better than most. Any weight savings with other tires are negligible.
I hate flats and demand performance! Using these tires has resulted in less flats with great performance.
