I bought Conti Grand Prix 4-season tires to replace Panaracers in a 700cx32mm size. I really liked the Panaracers, but wanted something more durable. I was concerned that the Grand Prix would be too harsh, but my concern was unfounded. The may not be as cushy as the soft sidewall Panaracers, but they arent bad at all, and the Conti duraskin sidewall seems tough. Traction is better than expected in loose stuff and dry cornering. They have about 400 miles on them, and tread wear seems good so far.
I have used Conti gatorskins in past. I tried these and they seem to perform just as well. Perhaps they are a bit lighter. I am very pleased with them.
Tough but light weight and pliable, Conti 4 Season are perfect for rough urban riding. Broken pavement, potholes, rocks, trash, construction sites, you can bike through just about anything without getting a flat on these Conti 4 Season.
Love these tires for their durability, traction, and puncture resistance. Just had to replace the rear tire after about 2,000mi but the front is still holding strong. I'll continue to buy these for the foreseeable future.
Using these tires for four months now with latex tubes at about 150 miles a week, the only flats have been slow leaks where the tire can be pumped up, then repaired at the destination. Some flats leave a hole in the tire big enough it looks wise to patch the tire, but I have never had to replace so much as the tube while on the road. I'm sticking with these tires.
these are mounted on a tandem and need to be tough and smooth out the ride . and do that, they do. Get good mileage on other Contis and these seem to be in line to do the same. good traction, wet or dry
There are likely slightly faster tires and perhaps tires for commuters that get more mileage.
As a serious recreational rider I want a tire that has a great ride feel, excellent puncture resistance and gets good mileage. In summary, this is that tire! The Vectran actually works to eliminate glass punctures, especially if you check your tires after rides and remove any large pieces embedded in the surface.
A major factor to me is ride feel which is great.
These tires are on all three bikes I ride routinely - my daily bike, my rain bike and my fast bike.
Tire is long lasting. Very good tire as a training/weekend tire.
I used these tires for 2700 miles of road riding last year and they performed great (no flats and no punctures).
I have used these and gatorskins on my road and commuting bikes. These don't seem to have the same ride quality or puncture resistance of a gatorskin. In only 300 miles on these I had 3 flats and finally a catastrophic sidewall rip on the same roads I routinely ride with my gators. I wanted to try something new and got these. lesson learned. back to gators.
Excellent service and tires
Been using these tires for Winter riding and have had only good experience. Up in the Northwest changing a tire on a wet ride is no fun. These tires have great protection from flats and still roll and handle well. I just need a bike that can handle wider tires to add more comfort and safety.
These are the best tires that I have found for all weather conditions and puncture resistant.
I live in an area that has a lot road debris and flats are very common. I have tried several different tires and brands and always come back to these tires for training and commuting. They still get cuts and punctures, but they are more durable than almost any tire I have ever used.
my son is a cat 1 racer and trains on these year-round.....believe me I have purchased MANY and these are by far the most reliable.
i use these for my winter bike, which is a fixed gear track bike, I ride over city streets in all conditions, including leaves, snow, sleet and rain. Certainly do recommend.
This is my third set of these tires. They wear great and have not had any issues with flats.
The tires feel great. They roll great. However Ive had sidewall failures on both front and rear. Id recommend them for how they feel but cant as a result of the sidewall issues. I have less than 500 miles on the pair. Perhaps it was just a bad day at the factory.
This tire has low rolling resistance, good handling and fairly durable. Also, I dont get too many flats with this tire.
These are great tires. I got the 25's and am running them at 100psi. Currently at about 600 miles and no flats and no sign of wear. Super happy with these tires and consider them my new go-to tires for all riding conditions.
