I am mainly a commuter and need flat resistant tires. I have tried a number of other brands but the Gatorskins have always given me the most miles before replacement is necessary. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is that I had one folding bead tire blow a side wall at only 1000 miles. Hope that was an anomaly.
I put a set of these on my wifes bike before her Ironman 140.6 each year just to take one worry out of the equation. With these bada skins most likely she will not have to deal with a flat. Love them big time!!

Not the most supple or fastest ride on the world bud I'd rather save 15mins not changing a flat than her an extra 8 watts. 280 miles Fort Myers Beach to Key West. 12 flats including shreds on our group of 8. Mile of them had this tire.
Zero for me.
These are great tires. I have raced across the country twice in the Trans American Bike and had a total of two flats over the 8400 miles. Im racing again this summer and would never use any other tire.
Worried that these 28s would not fit but they fit great. I was amazed at the difference in my ride after using 25s. Very smooth ride.
Purchased a pair of these in 700c x 23 tires for an older road bike with limited tire clearance. I selected the Gatorskins for a combination of high puncture resistance, reasonable price, and good prior experiences with these in a wider size.
Great tires, I live in an area where we have
Goat heads which flatten our tires every time we go out, but these tires give great protection. The small drawback is that the initial instastalatiin is a bit difficult because tire is tight
Great tires for training rides.
I have been using Gatroskins for years and have had minimal flats. The roads I ride on can be rough and periodically have broken glass on them. I have recommended, and will continue to recommend Gatorskins.
Tires replaced a heavier, stiffer, puncture resistant tire which provided a hard and slower ride. The Gatorskins smoothed out the ride, allowed a faster pace with less work and were easy to mount without breaking my thumbs. I have used Gatorsklins in the past with excellent reliability and longevity. I replace tires about every 3000 miles.
Other than being a.little difficult to get on the rims, these tires are perfect for riding where there may be some bits of trash or rocks on the shoulder. They roll we'll and hold up. I ride them consistently instead of others and the price is usually right.
Ride the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga trails with very few flats with this tire, last about 3,000 mikes.
Dependable tire, puncture proof!
Have used these tires for our tandem for several years with no complaints. Tires are durable (no cutting) and have been pretty immune to flats as well.
I commute 5000 miles per year in NYC, with all of the various conditions and hazards that entails, from potholes, broken glass, cobblestones, oblivious pedestrians, drivers, trucks, buses (did I mention potholes?) and have come to rely exclusively on my Gatorskins. I usually go through two sets per year, riding 5 or 6 days per week, year-round and never have more than one or two flats per year.
best tires i ever used, no flats in two years knock on wood!!!!!!!!!
Great product. Good all weather commutingtraining tire. Very good flat resistance. Not the absolute best for high speed cornering, but more than adequate for any uses other than racing. This has been my go-to tire for years and I've ridden them in every type of condition. Even ridden through piles of glass without flatting. (although I did have to pick it all out afterwards - not a recommended behavior) Consistent high quality product that has yet to disappoint.
These are the only tires I ride. I havent experienced a flat in over a year.
Over the years this tire has been my go to tire. Great for avoiding flats, and wear. I usually change them at 3000 miles, but they still have life in them.
