Best tire I've found for outdoor training. Pulled at thin piece of wire out of my tire that I had run over...no flat. When there is garbage on the road, I feel comfortable with this tire.
I use these tires year-round on my steel commuter and carbon road bike. I've only gotten one flat in about 2,000 miles of riding on both bikes. The tires are grippy and provide a smooth ride.
Great tire.. I don't like the wear indicators they added to the tires .. but great tire over all if you ride on harsh roads .
long lasting, well made. Miles to go before I sleep. Ride on McDuff.
rides like the original gaterskin but have confidence of a lot less flats
These are great. West Texas has tons of goat head stickers. I can go 90 days between flats with these hard shells.
Great tire. Good ride, and great reliability.
Good product for a tour in the mountains of Colorado.
This has been my favorite tire by far. It lasts longer that any other tire I've tried and grips well.
I have just started using Gator hardshell. I like them so far but give a season or two to have a better idea of how they preform.

I have now about 400 miles on this tire (rear), and I am very satisfied. As ride the on the shoulders of the roads outside a major city, I am confronted with debris (mainly glass) of many types. So far, I have had only minor cuts to the tire and no flats. Normally, I have one flat per week. The only downside is the ride is a little less supple, however, I can live with this. This is a buy, which I did-a future spare.
I have roughly 1700 FLAT FREE MILES on the set I currently have mounted. I love these tires. They feel much slower than a traditional Race Tire, but I would have a very hard time being convinced to buy a different tire. They grip well in the rain, and handle the training miles with ease. The wear (lack of) is incredible. They have held up perfectly. I train regularly, and would reccommend these to anyone.
For several years, I use Gator skin hardshell road tires on my road bike. Three days a week, I ride 25 miles from my home in La Mesa to the hospital where I work as a physician. The roads are sometimes poorly maintained and the last thing I want is a flat tire. With continental gator skins, I rarely get a flat tire and the tread life lasts a long time. With these tires you do not need any liners ro special tubes. You will not be disappointed.
These tires are holding up great. I occasionally ride on small gravel surfaces as well as rough country roads. After 1000 miles, the tires don't have a single tear or cut.
I bought the 700C Hardshells because I was having a lot of flats with my Michelin Dynamic Sport tires. My riding is on country roads, and my flats were punctures from thorns or small pieces of broken glass. Since installing the Hardshells I haven't had a single flat while riding the same roads--approx 10 to 15mi. daily, and 50 to 70mi on weekends. I've had them for approx. 1.5 months.
long lasting tire.
I finally got a flat....and i couldn't get this damned thing off the rim to save my life without cursing under my breath as i scratched up my rim with a metal screw driver.... AFTER i had to call a cab to take me home.
other than that, highly satisfactory, i suppose.
I ride 5 days a week training in variable conditions. I ride a lot of back roads and hills. Rolling resistance is great. I have had no flats since going to these. I use them in races as well as training. They are bullet proof
I'm using these on my fixed-gear and touring bike. Since I began using them 3 years ago, I haven't had a single flat. I used to get them often enough. The quality and durability is great and considering they're handmade in Germany, the price is very low.
