Make the mountain your home-away-from-home with the shoe sure to keep you wanting more. The Frost Gore-Tex 2 Mountain Biking Shoe from Sidi has everything you need to make your trail adventures that much more unforgettable. With the SR17 representing the ultimate result in terms of stiffness for pedaling and flexion for walking, this pair will last a lifetime and become your ultimate go-to MTB shoe.
The Tecno-3 System is made up of dials along the entire length of the shoe, allowing the upper to shape to your foot for a fully customizable fit. Sidi's famously reliable and replaceable closures are improved by an all-new proprietary Sidi Wire material. This non-binding essential allows for intuitive and effortless on-the-fly adjustments. Featuring the lighter and higher performing MTB SR17 sole, which is made up of nylon with polyurethane inserts to deliver comfort where you need it most. The shape of the sole tread has been specifically designed for the mountain bike, allowing for a good grip, facilitating mud dispersion, and providing the right stability for owning the trail. The central insert with the Sidi logo is non-slip and is practical and useful for all cyclists, especially for the less experienced users. The toe area is more subject to wear, especially when walking, so that is why Sidi allows for this area to be easily serviced and replaced by screws. Both the original and the replacement toe allows you to mount crampons to improve traction on muddy grounds.
The Sidi Frost Gore-Tex 2 Shoe has all the little details that make a huge difference down the road. A reinforced cup stabilizes and supports the heel for increased power transfer with reduced heel slip. This anatomically shaped plastic also provides additional foot protection in the event of a crash.

Sidi men's size 44 have been great for me for the past 10-15 years and have included road (genius and shot) and mtb (dominator x 2); however I was unable to get the fit on the size 44 frost to work for me. They seemed too large, especially at the heel, and using thicker socks and shoe inserts did not help. I tried the 43s and they were too small. My wife wears a 42 in Sidi road and mtb/gravel shoes and the 42 frosts fit her fine. She has used these for the past two winters and loves them -- so clearly they are a nice shoe. I just wish that Sidi had used the same last for the Frost 44 that they use on their other shoes. If they change the fit, I would definitely reconsider.
For some years now, I have been wearing an earlier version of this bike shoe with my tandem that has Shimano cleat pedals. I only needed them for about 3 months of the year, but they kept my feet cozy. Wearing these shoes is a lot easier than wearing multiple pairs of socks or wrestling with toe covers, and do a better job of keeping both your feet and ankles warm. Last year we got a second tandem, but use SPD pedals on it, so it was time to get the Sidi Frost MTB shoe. It works just as well as the earlier version. With Sidi Frost shoes for each tandem, I never have frozen feet in the winter.
I am a long time SIDI shoe wearer and currently have three other pairs of SIDI shoes (road, MTB). The SIDI Frost foot fit is fine but the fit at the ankle area is terrible and causes a lot of discomfort. Ive tried different tension levels etc and hoped that after a few rides they would break in a bit, but no luck. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
I use it for cold weather riding in the Midwest. I like the wind proof gortex and the Boa ratchet system. Power transfer seems the best for any shoe I have ever used. Not super comfortable to walk in but feel super comfortable while pedaling.
Gravel and wintry rides mostly, they are incredibly versatile when it comes to cold and wet. The fit of Sidi Frost MTB is different than the road version. I have both and use them all winter long, with proper wool socks they handle everything and all temperatures. Above 48 degrees I still use regular shoes and booties, but 48 and down to mid-20s its the Sidi frost for my rides.

I was not able to find a size that fit me. My normal cycling shoe is a Bontrager size 44. These 44's were a little too small and the 45's were way too big. I switched to the 45North Ragnaroks and those had the same fit as my Bontragers.
5 stars because they seem like if I could have found the right size they would have met my needs of keeping my feet warm and dry.
