Bartender, I'll have another.

Replaced my old upright aero bottle with this system. I liked the looks of this system primarily because I had used and trusted Profile Design (PD) products in the past and liked the upfront computer mount. When I tried to mount on my bike the bracket clamp circumference was to small for my syntace bars so I had to use my PD mounting bracket with Velcro to attach to the aero bars. I used the new bottle mount piece of the bracket with my PD velcro arms to attach the system to my bike. I got everything mounted and it seemed to be fine for the short ride I did. The second time I used the bottle was at a triathlon in Indiana and the roads were very rough in parts. PD's very bad idea of using a rubber band like device to hold the bottle in the mount showed its ugly head. I was crossing some rough railroad tracks and my bottle with my brand new Garmin 1030 went flying off my bike. Whoever at PD that came up with that idea should seriously be questioned on any future decisions! I have no idea what happened to the rubber band retaining piece or the tip of the straw, I couldn't find them. I assume the band broke because it was definitely secured as shown in the instructions. This all happened at about mile 3 of my race with a full bottle. After stopping going back and getting the bottle and Garmin I literally had to carry the bottle in my hands the rest of the ride. I ended up dropping the bottle 3 more time on the ride because hay, I don't practice holding an aero bottle in my hand while riding!!! At the very minimum the rubber band retention needs to be replaced with something much more secure (like the velcro strap on the PD upright bottle system). If you ride on roads that are rough in parts do not get this system as it currently is! I expected more out of Profile Design they definitely dropped the ball on this product!!!
I mounted this up on a Felt B Series TT bike. Works great based on my aero bar positions. Computer mount is well placed for visibility. Solid when riding and does not vibrate much, chip seal will make it bounce a wee bit. I like the volume. I have only had it for about a month, still getting used to the bite valve vs. drinking from a bottle. It seems like the bite valve, or my use of it, interrupts my breathing more than I like.
