The Pirelli PZERO Race 4S TLR is their first ever year-long racing tire with tubeless technology able to provide high grip in all kinds of weather with increased puncture protection while still maintaining the racing characteristics of the PZERO Race range.
This result has been achieved thanks to SPEEDCORE tubeless technology, their latest evolution in terms of casing constructions, and SMARTNET Silica which holds the best formulation for wet and chemical grip among our compounds.
This is the highest-performing tubeless-ready road casing in their range, with a unique design that adds an aramid band within the tire's rubber layer. This new structure adds strength and support to the casing but retains a supple feel for minimal rolling resistance and maximum grip compared to a tire with a full bead-to-bead aramid construction.
The tire also features a 120 tpi nylon casing for added puncture protection and maximum security.
Pirelli SmartNET™ Silica technology delivers high rolling efficiency, thanks to its natural anisotropic orientation, which reduces heating while increasing elasticity, to help minimize energy dissipation. That means you can enjoy highly reliable wet grip all year long in any temperature.
The wide surface of the silica rod molecules enhances its natural water affinity, delivering confident handling on wet surfaces.
As with the rest of the PZERO Race range, the PZERO Race 4S TLR is made in Italy in PIrelli's new Bollate factory.

I commute at not great hours of the day, in all sorts of weather. One thing I don't need to deal with is a flat. I usually use the Cinturato Velo, which is one of the worst feeling tires I've ridden, but in terms of what I need it to do, it's awesome. But, I was wondering if I needed to go that nuts on a tire.
This all season tire seems to be a good balance between a performance tire, and a bombproof tire. I can also tell you, it's super easy to mount, did it with my fingers, but of note I can get a GP5K S TR on with my hands. The Cinturato though, that thing is impossible, and what I always worried about is at 4am, in the dark, in the cold, that it flats on me, and I can't get the tire plugged, and then can't get it off the rim easily out in the field.
This seems to be more day to day usable, which I do like. It rolls faster too than the Cinturato, that thing is SLOW. The 4S tire is also pretty comfy, not GP5K comfy, nor GP5K fast, but I wreck those tires on day to day miles, not worth it.
I originally planned on just running this tire for the fall/winter season, but i like it so much i don't see a reason to switch to summer race tire. Puncture protection seems great, haven't had any yet, and i run TPU tubes (im over tubeless set ups). I run 30mm tires on Zipp 454 NSW wheels. Loving the set up and will probably switch my other bike to these when the GP5000s wear out.
