I have had this pump for so many years I can't say how long; 10+? I bought it so long ago it had a different head, and Lezyne sent me the upgraded head free. I use it 5-6 times a week and I love it; I have exactly ZERO COMPLAINTS, and I can complain about anything, ask my wife.Presta-schrader swap takes 3 seconds; fantastically easy. I use it on my car tires I love it so much.
Pump is easy to stroke in the global scheme of things. It MUST have some friction to make a seal and work, right. I'd say one gets about 2lb/stroke in a 23c road tire if that matters.
Another review comments on the upper clips causing wear on the hose; nope. Again had this for a nominal decade and they aren't clips, they are a perfectly-engineered Lezyne-brilliant piece of a CNC machined chunk of aluminum lovely.
I cannot understand how anyone is going to complain about the thread-on head; it is far superior to the friction-and-lever style and Lezyne has made an engineering masterpiece of it as they do. It takes me 20 minutes of kitting out and grabbing lights and a head unit and water bottles of electrolyte and in that, who cares about 10 seconds of twisting a pump head.
No, this is not cheap. You get what you pay for. It is CNC aluminum not a collection of plastic turds. I have ridden regularly since 1988 and I can think of at least 3 pumps I have thrown in the trash. I can think of numerous heads from named brands that have failed in a couple years.
The Lezyne is perfect and will be for another decade I am sure.
I the pump to appear to have great engineering and design details however upon use I found rotating the barrel attachment to the valve stem difficult because of the finger force needed to rotate to a tight position (which my wife gave up on and went back to the old pump) and the barrel will not fit over a valve extender. So basically I can't use this pump. Looks nice sitting in the corner...
The mechanism for screwing onto the valve stem has worked really well on both presta and shrader. This pump is faster to inflate a tire than my old Joe Blow pump. I've been pleased with it.
I like the screw on inflation head rather than the flip on, it takes a few more seconds but provides a secure connection, the relief valve also is nice to fine tune your pressure exactly, and the gauge reads easily.
The fit and finish seem nice, but pumping action seems just a bit spindly such that it almost feels like one could bend the pump arm if you don't go straight up and down. Overall, though, it is a nice pump.
If you are looking for a reasonable priced tire pump which does what it advertises to do, and you want a specific air pressure, this is the pump. It is as precise as the digital version with no needs to worry about batteries.
