Saddle width is the most challenging aspect of choosing a traditionally made saddle wherein the molded base is rigid and inflexible so the fit your pelvic region and sit bones is hyper critical. Rider height, weight and skeletal structure is not necessarily the best width selection predetermination. The widest weight bearing region across the rear of a saddle is the most important dimension where riding comfort is concerned, assuming the saddle in question is a well engineered and constructed of the finest, most suitable material held in suspension. Measuring your sit bones is problematic. The pelvis is a flexible, hinged structure and the ischial tuberosities (sit bones) are very irregular shapes. Depending on your body orientation when trying to measure sit bone width, you may not find the ideal sit bone contact patch and you may get a false measurement that is slightly too wide or too narrow.
