The Scott Plasma 20 triathlon bike is an extremely lightweight bike and built with a sleek aerodynamic design. It rides like a cadillac and flies like a ferrari. This is due in no small part to the Plasma having the lightest frame on the market, made from just 1040 grams of carbon using proven CR1 carbon welding technology. Combine this with aerodynamic TR Aero tubing, integrated seatpost, and the Shock Damping System, the Plasma offers a comfortable, energy saving ride. Athletes like Cameron Brown, Ain Alar Juhanson, and the riders of the Zoot Triathlon Team and Pro Tour Team Saunier Duval make the most of the beneficial features of the frame when they are racing against the clock.
The integrated seat mast further reduces weight and is possibly one of the best additions on any bike! Once you ride on an integrated seat mast your opinion is changed forever! It is more compliant. It is stiffer. It makes the bike corner better. Effectively you have a longer carbon downtube dissipating vibrations while helping transfer power into forward motion.
Another benefit of the CR1 Plasma and Plasma 2 frames are its adjustable seat angle through the seatpost clamp. The bike comes set up with a 76 degree seat angle, but flip the seat clamp hardware and you get an extra centimeter of forward adjustment and a 78 degree seat angle!
The ride: The three biggest things you will see when you ride a Plasma is its ability to climb, accellerate quickly, and be comfortable. Due to its light weight and stiff bottom bracket, the Scott Plasma is a smooth climber and you will notice you are using one gear larger getting up that next hill. For an aero bike, the Plasma is the king of comfort. The lay up of the carbon with Scott’s Shock Dampening System allows the frame to absorb both big and small bumps. This all equates to entering T2 fresh and ready to run!
