2009 Kuota Kueen K Triathlon Bike:
Kuota was born in Kona. For that reason it is very fitting to name their top-end triathlon bike Kueen-K after the Queen Kaahumany Highway also known as the Queen K. To improve on the Kuota Kalibur which owns numerous course records was an extremely difficult challenge for Kuota. How do you improve on the Kalibur which is one of the most functionally sound bike on the market? Kuota told us how with the Kuota Kueen K.

The primary goal for Kuota was to improve the overall aerodynamics of the bike but maintain an extremely low weight and compliance. This was accomplished using nano-technologies which allows you to use less carbon without losing stiffness or compliance. This allowed Kuota engineers to design an extremely aerodynamic frame without compromising the integrity or the stiffness of the frame. In fact the nano technology and the meticulous detail to the carbon lay-up provides one of the stiffest triathlon bikes on the market today. In addition Kuota designed the frame so that the front and rear brakes are hidden, in doing so greatly reducing the overall aerodynamic drag. Lastly, the Kuota Kueen-K features an integrated seat mast which is cut down to fit your saddle height (the seat clamp provides 30mm of adjustment). Riding a bike that has an integrated seat mast is an immediate eye-opener! It corners better, handles better, and lighter. However the biggest advantage is that the bike is extremely more comfortable to ride. Hence, Kuota accomplished all of their goals with the Kueen-K. They developed an extremely aerodynamic triathlon bike that offers aggressive seat angles without sacrificing any weight, comfort, or stiffness. In fact, it is more comfortable, stiffer, and handles even better than the renowned Kuota Kalibur. Bravo.
